Sharing Our ‘Why’

Over the past year, we’ve been preparing our little farm for its very first full growing season. It’s been a true labor of love—and a season full of learning. The deer and rabbits devoured our test beds (is that the farming version of “the dog ate my homework?”), but even so, we proved that this dream could work.

There’s still plenty to do. Our building needs finishing touches, and the well is still waiting for power, but we finally have a place to store supplies and call our own. So why does all of this matter? Why take this on while still working full-time jobs?

The answer lies in something JT and I have been building toward for years, even before we realized it. Everything we’ve shared, learned, and cared about has found a home in our vision: “Cultivating Wellness for the Body, Mind, and Soul.” At our core, both individually and together, we’re driven by lifting others up. From my passion for teaching mindfulness through yoga to JT’s dedication to supporting veterans and skilled trades, our paths naturally led us here—together. We want to help others find peace, whatever that looks like for them.

I’ve always loved flowers—flowers growing in a garden and flowers arranged in a bouquet. That love has long been part of JT’s love language, too. He always knew when I needed a little extra brightness and would bring home a bouquet just to lift my spirits. It never failed to make me smile. Flowers have a way of doing that. They heal in small, quiet ways you don’t always realize you need.

Our little farm offers that same kind of healing. With sweeping views and quiet beauty, it naturally speaks to the soul. One day, I hope to welcome people here for retreats—time and space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect. A place to enjoy nature, practice mindful movement, and find stillness.

This week, we officially committed to sharing our plans. JT announced it on Facebook yesterday, and seeing the encouragement and support was incredibly humbling. Today, I’m doing the same—sharing a bit more of our why.

If this vision speaks to you, we invite you to follow along as we grow—both in the fields and in purpose. We’re excited to share the journey with you.
