Baby Sunflowers!

After several weeks of intense monitoring, care-giving, and love we were finally able to put our first transplants into the ground. We found a little spot of land that was out of the way from the upcoming barn build and made a patch for the sunnies. After a week of ‘false fall’ summer came back with a vengeance. Nevertheless, we planted and watered as fast as we could to get them settled in. We finished it off with installing trail cameras so we could keep an eye on their progress. We have had everything from deer to bird dogs to hummingbirds and one HUGE spider wake up that camera. But the sunnies are growing! We expect our first cuttings to be ready in late September.
